Independence Day

We finally got some rain here in Arizona. We were going to spend some time being lazy in the pool, but as my daughter said, “We only got to spend like ten seconds in the pool!” Followed by some pouting.I had the in-laws over for an Independence Day BBQ. I always worry about undercooking chicken, so I usually end up overcooking it. Not today! The chicken was just about perfect. I grilled up some Johnston’s BBQ, worcestershire seasoned and some plain old white-meat chicken. I also made the most delicious garlic salt asparagus a buddy of mine showed me how to do a few years ago. The kids, who are normally very picky eaters, ate all their chicken and asked for more. Overall it was a very pleasant July 4th.
As far as the book is concerned, nothing today, just spending time with the family. I am gonna knockout a few more chapters of the latest book I am reading, Green Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson. It’s a good read – check out the series if you are a sci-fi buff.
I hope you all had a great 4th, and talk to you tomorrow.
